A good selection of trout beads, small spawn sacks, and Salmon egg beads, all working well. Natural colors, as water has been very low and clear. Flourocarbon leaders, a bit light line, and a smaller presentation has been key. Small jigs and wax worms are also very good during March. Black jigs are exceptionally good, due to the large amounts of winter stone flies in the river system. Black Stone flies are a key, and major food source for Michigan, Spring Steelhead.
Look for Steelhead fishing to continue to remain strong over the next month or so. Big Fish, and lots of em! March and April offer excellent Steelhead fishing on the Muskegon River.
